Children want to discover and try out everything. They want to romp around and be free. To enable them to do this, there are special aids for children with disabilities that are adapted to their height and motor development. With numerous mobility and everyday aids, children can be supported in all situations and their independence can be encouraged. Germany's second-largest health insurer accepts preliminary ruling on ReWalk exoskeletons as direct disability compensation

The health insurer BARMER accepts the second-instance ruling of the Federal Social Court North Rhine-Westphalia. This decision enables paraplegics in Germany to obtain exoskeletons as direct disability compensation on an easier pathway.

Physiologist from Bayreuth receives European Diabetes Research Award: New app enables safe exercise in type 1 diabetes

A study at the University of Bayreuth is evaluating an app that has already been developed to enable people with type 1 diabetes to exercise safely. The aim is for people with type 1 diabetes to be able to exercise without fear of dysglycemia. Bayreuth physiologist Professor Othmar Moser receives a European Diabetes Research Award.

The grip-strengthening glove Carbonhand® from Bioservo is now classified and approved as a medical device under the European Medical Device Regulation (EU MDR). The grip strengthening glove gives people with limited hand function additional strength and endurance in their grip and is equipped with sensors at the fingertips.
